Founded in 1986 by Mack and Charlie Thomas, MacQues Barbecue began the 20 year process of creating the area's best kept secret.
The dream started with Mack wanting to open his own restaurant, after many nights in the kitchen perfecting his original recipe Barbecue sauce and marinade.
With family and friends always taking advantage of an opportunity to come by when Mack was barbecuing the groundwork was set.
Since then MacQues has established itself as one of the area's best Barbecue Restaurants and catering services. Specializing in barbecue, but not stopping there, MacQue's has catered to some of Sacramento’s largest companies, such as Sacramento Sports Commission, Apple Computers, Pacific Gas and Electric and the Sheriff’s Olympics, while playing a major part in the development of quality vendors for the Olympics Trials in 2000.
MacQue's has donated time, money and resources to countless charities, and community organizations over the years and continues to expand their role as community business leaders. MacQues has been given high marks for the great Bar-be-que and the down home goodness of their side dishes. Mack enjoys queing and seeing customer’s with that look of “I’ve finally found it”.
